Mr. Paul Miller, Chairman

Paul L. Miller is Managing Director of the Private Client Group at Longview Capital Management, LLC and serves on the risk management and investment selection committees for the Longview Global portfolios. Paul grew up in Wilmington, Delaware and graduated from the University of Delaware with degrees in both Finance and Marketing. Paul worked on Wall Street to begin his career in finance. He now lives in Wilmington with his wife and two children and is active in several organizations, including Grace Church where he sits on the Staff Parish Relations Committee and is Coordinator for Volunteers In Mission. Paul also serves on the Loan Review Committee at West End Neighborhood House, is a 2011 graduate of Leadership Delaware, and is a member of the Wilmington Rotary Club.

Ms. Aileen Murray, Board Member

A St. Mark's High School alumnus, Aileen Murray also graduated from the University of Miami, where she majored in Motion Pictures and Math, and from the DAVE (Digital Animation and Visual Effects) School in Orlando.  Ms. Murray moved to Kansas City, MO to work for a visual effects company, working on short films and TV shows like Alcatraz, Fringe, Person of Interest, The Flash, Believe, and Almost Human; as well as commercials for companies such as Garmin and Gatorade. She is a founding faculty member of Design Thinking Academy, teaching Media and Design. Ms. Murray is passionate about film and television, and bringing the art of visual storytelling and designing to her students. Ms. Murray is an athlete, competing in the Disney Princess Marathon, and coaches the Design Thinking Academy girls softball team.

Mr. Joe LoPorto, P.E., Board Member

Mr. LoPorto is in executive management at Pepco Holdings, Inc. He has over 35 years of experience in the utility industry in the areas of T&D Planning, Distribution Standards, Capital and Maintenance Budget Management, aging infrastructure strategies, reliability strategies, and T&D Automation technology implementation.  Mr. LoPorto served as Program Manager, charged with managing implementation of Distribution Automation technologies funded by DOE’s Smart Grid Investment Grants, which were completed by end of 2013.  In his most recent position as Manager T&D Automation, he is charged with continued implementation of T&D automation technologies, as well as formulation of related future strategies. Mr. LoPorto has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Rutgers University and is a Licensed Professional Engineer and a Member of IEEE. He has spoken at various conferences on the topics of EMF impacts on projects, Distributed Generation, Asset Management Strategies, and Distribution Automation. Mr. LoPorto lives in Delaware with his wife and five children, one of whom is a Design Thinking Academy student.

John A. Pelesko is a Professor in the Department of Mathematical Sciences and Associate Dean for the Natural Sciences in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Delaware. John joined the University of Delaware in 2002 after having been a member of the faculty at the Georgia Institute of Technology and having held the position of Von Karman Instructor in the Department of Computing and Mathematical Sciences at the California Institute of Technology. During his time as Chair of the Department of Mathematical Sciences he led the effort to create the Mathematical Sciences Learning Laboratory, a “one-stop-shop” approach to the teaching and learning of introductory mathematics. He is active in education within the State of Delaware, working with the Delaware Department of Education to implement a new high-school course, “Foundations of College Mathematics,” and co-chairing a statewide effort on behalf of the P-20 Council to reduce the need for remedial mathematics among Delaware’s high school graduates. John is part of the leadership council for the TeachDE initiative, and serves on the steering committee for the Partnership for Public Education.

Matt Urban, CEO and co-founder of Möbius New Media, in downtown Wilmington, has extensive experience in diverse multi-media marketing, web experience and business management. Matt and his team successfully apply their deep knowledge of traditional and online marketing, search engine optimization/marketing to deliver local, regional, and national marketing and advertising campaigns for online and brick-and-mortar businesses. He leads talented technical and design teams with a proven track record of delivering complex and sophisticated web applications. Matt has deep, media production expertise in video production, photography, graphic design, audio production and animation. Matt is a recognized volunteer leader with The Sierra Club, supporting leadership development and organizational effectiveness. Matt earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Delaware and is a lifelong Delaware resident.

Ms. Anna Yonkers, Board Member

Anna Yonkers is a board member and teacher at Design Thinking Academy where she teaches Spanish. Anna graduated from Grand Valley State University where she studied English, education, and Spanish with an emphasis in US diversity. Upon graduation Anna became a member of the American Council for the Teaching of Foreign Languages. In addition Ms. Yonkers has traveled Latin America through the Jesuit program “Casa de la solidaridad.” While abroad, Anna worked alongside her mentor Mercedes Monges to develop women’s empowerment groups and teacher led professional learning communities in the rural Salvadoran community of Santa Maria de La Esperanza. Anna is dedicated to promoting intersectional social justice, and worked to those ends in many diverse settings​​ including a family literacy program through The Literacy Center of West Michigan, immigrant/ refugee educational outreach, Christel House DORS adult dropout recovery school, and social work in El Salvador. She considers her ability to provide a “boots on the ground,” perspective as her number one qualification for being a board member, and believes keeping stakeholders in mind is indispensable in making informed and wise school decisions.

Mr. Evan Quetisch, Board Member

Evan Quetisch is a lifelong Delawarean who graduated from Mount Pleasant High School where he served in the JROTC.  He then went on to the U.S. Marine Corps where he served as both a Main Battle Tank Repair Technician and the unit Information Technology Lead.  He has 17 years of experience in Information Technology and has served in various roles throughout his career.  Previously, Evan has served in infrastructure leadership and management positions with financial, manufacturing and engineering firms.  In his current position, as the Solutions Program Manager with Arora Technology Group, Mr. Queitsch leads the planning, design, development, implementation and delivery of information technology solutions within the transportation, higher education, healthcare and industrial industries. Mr. Queitsch is the parent of a second year Design Thinking Academy student and an advocate for student athletics.  As a student athlete himself, Evan understands the value that athletics bring to students and to the school as a whole.  He has served as a volunteer soccer coach with Kirkwood Soccer Club since 2011 and has been involved with the Sports Boosters for Design Thinking Academy.

Ms. Mercure graduated in 2009 from Temple University with a B.S. in Biology and Secondary Education and in 2012 earned a M.S. in Psychology from the University of Phoenix. She is a member of the American Psychological Association and holds a pharmacy technician certification. Prior to starting her career as a teacher, she worked in the pharmaceutical industry for over 10 years. Before moving to Delaware in 2015, and joining the team at DTA in 2016, she taught in public and charter schools in Pennsylvania. Ms. Mercure teaches science and psychology across all grade levels and is currently doing research work on the incorporation of design thinking into science curriculums to support the vision of the school.

Ms. Crystal Griggs, Parent Board Member

Crystal R. Griggs is the parent of a DTA sophomore student.  She has 30 years of second level transportation management and is an advocate for children’s education.  In her spare time she enjoys volunteering for numerous community events benefiting children, education, and health issues.  In addition, playing golf, bowling and freehand drawing are also her favorite pastimes. Crystal is an alum from West Chester University and has graduate studies from Wilmington University in Public Administration. Crystal is a native Ohioan, born and raised. She is also a sitting board member for Covenant Heritage Bible Church.
